ABRSM Exam Accompaniment East Dulwich

2014 SESSION A UPDATE: We are accompanying ABRSM exam candidates on 3 July at Stillness School in Brockley and on 10th July at Denmark Hill, Camberwell centre.

We receive many enquiries (pretty much always last minute!) from instrumentalists sitting a graded ABRSM exam that require a pianist to accompany them. Accompanying a well-prepared student is usually very straightforward and requires just one rehearsal. For students that are not used to playing with an accompanist and/or are not able to play their pieces fluently, sometimes an additional rehearsal is required.

2014 Accompaniment Fees:

Grades 1 – 3: £65
Grades 4 – 6: £85
Grades 7 – 8: £100

This is a once-and-for-only fee and covers:

  • One full rehearsal at my East Dulwich location (Barry Road). The length of the session is typically 15 minutes for Grades 1 to 5 to 30 minutes for Grades 6 to 8.
  • All my prep and travel time and expenses to the Denmark Hill/Camberwell centre or local schools within walking distance: Dulwich Hamlet Junior School, JAGS and Alleyn’s.
  • The exam itself.

Additional fees:

  • Extra rehearsals and aural lessons are charged at our usual teaching rate of £35 / 30 mins.

No fee for SE22 Piano School students:

  • We accompany our piano students that learn other instruments free of charge for their exams, festivals, auditions etc in return for a donation of 1 lesson fee to our Justgiving page. Please inform us of the date for your examination as soon as you receive it.

Pupils should provide original piano part. For copyright purposes, we Do Not accept photocopy materials. Teachers have no responsibility for providing the piano part.
