Saturday 25 January

Time TBC, 5.30pm

We have limited spaces for performers. Please book your tickets early if you are keen to perform as we have a time limit on the concert so that it does not overrun. We have space for 30 performers. Once this number has been reached, the event will be marked as Sold Out on the online ticketing system.

Performers – please buy one ticket per performer @ £19.80 and as many observer tickets as required. Tickets may only be booked online.

**There is no interval at this performance.**

Children of any age are welcome and require a ticket, even if sharing a seat as numbers in the venue are limited for safety reasons.

On Your Marks: Your turn to be the ABRSM examiner!

Thanks to my colleague David Barton for flagging up this great resource from ABRSM where you can listen to a full Grade 5 piano exam, guess the mark and then see the actual score received along with an explanation of the score from the Chief Examiner. The sight-reading test is the most revealing of all, I think!

With many SE22 Piano School students sitting exams this Autumn, this will be great to see what is expected for the various categories of marks: Distinction, Merit and Pass. Also see our guide with various comment sheets from Examiners covering the three mark categories: Pass, Merit or Distinction? How examiners mark your ABRSM music exam.

Support ‘The Peckham Peculiar’ – pledge your support on Kickstarter before 30/09/2013

Captured on the Rye and the SE22 Piano School are supporting The Peckham Peculiar on Kickstarter – will you show your support too so they can reach their funding goal of £5000? As of tonight, they are just £387 away from their goal and there’s just a fortnight left to raise the final amount.

‘The Peckham Peculiar’ is a new periodical in one of London’s most vibrant areas.

You should get involved if:

(a) you love newspapers

(b) you want to inspire the local community

(c) you want to be associated with a project that’s hyper-local in one of London’s most up-and-coming and talked about areas!

From TPP’s Kickstarter page:
“We want to write about local news. We want to be free so the whole community can read us. We will be a 16 page newspaper that comes out 6 times a year. The emphasis will be on real reporting and unique stories, not celebrity-led drivel. There will also be a strong focus on design and lots of photographs.”
