London Piano Meetup Group – Trip to Finchcocks Musical Museum

We spent a very enjoyable day at Finchcocks Musical Museum in Goudhurst, Kent playing the historical instruments under the expert tuition of Gary Branch, Steven Devine and Jean Phillips. The event takes place yearly and is called the Open Day for Pianists. There are separate events for younger students as well.

Dulwich Piano Festival 2013 at Alleyn’s School

The 2nd Annual Dulwich Piano Festival was held at Alleyn’s School in East Dulwich on Sunday 23rd of June. We had two adjudicators, Frances Wilson and Graham Fitch and around 90 pianists taking part from beginner level to advanced. We were delighted to have so many adults taking part in the festival too. New classes this year included our harpsichord class, a Concerto Class where the winner played his own composition and a jazz class. Details of trophy winners can be found below as well as a selection of photos of some of the participants. Photos are available from the photographer, James Eppy.

More photos and latest news from the festival can be found on our Facebook page.

We are already planning the 2014 Dulwich Music Festival which will include classes for Strings, Woodwind and Singing. The proposed dates for the festivals are February 8th and 9th 2014. A syllabus will be online in July.
