Music Lessons for adults and children in East Dulwich & Music Aptitude Test training
EPTA London SE is a newly launched region of the European Piano Teachers’ Association and we were delighted that Melvyn Cooper hosted a masterclass for us at St Barts in Sydenham. Melvyn covered repertoire from Leopold Mozart to Scriabin and had insightful feedback for all pianists from beginner to advanced. We are planning a visit to Finchcocks Musical Museum in Kent on Saturday June 20 2015 (11:00 – 15:00 time TBC). Pianists from all teachers in the local area are welcome to attend.
This is a wonderful opportunity for young pianists to explore and play the collection of harpsichords at Finchcock Musical Museum. Steven Devine from the Finchcocks Educational Team will work with each pianist on a Baroque piece (A List pieces such as Arietta by Clementi, Minuet by L.Mozart, Trumpet Minuet by Clarke etc) that they are currently learning. There will be a group recital at the end of the day. Suitable for Grades 1+.
Audience members most welcome. Lunch is also available if pre-ordered (lunch is not included in the price, contact us to pre-order your lunch. You may also bring your own packed lunch.
Many of our students are working towards Summer or Autumn theory exam entry. Theory lessons start w/c 27 April with Pierre-Emmanuel or Lorraine. Please ensure that you have some books to bring to your first lesson. Recommendations are below. Search online for the required Grade if the one listed below is not suitable. Please also print lots of manuscript paper and bring to each lesson.
Here are our recommended books for Grade 5 exam preparation. For lower grades, we recommend the Ying Ying Ng theory books that are well-designed and ideal for younger students.
